System Requirements

Before installing, make sure the machine you're installing onto meets the following requirements.

Operating system

The Datafeed App runs on 64-bit Windows. Supported versions are:

  • Windows 10, version 22H2 or later
  • Windows 11
  • Windows Server 2019
  • Windows Server 2022

32-bit versions of Windows are not supported.

Hardware and disk

  • CPU: any modern 64-bit processor.
  • Memory: the app uses well under 100 MB of RAM when idle.
  • Disk: approximately 150 MB for the application itself, plus space for your CSV files (typically a few megabytes).

Network

The machine needs outbound network access to your Kiss data endpoint. Your Kiss account manager will give you the exact address to allow through your firewall.

The Datafeed App does not require inbound network access. It is not a server.

Account permissions

You need administrator rights on the machine for the initial install. This is because the app installs a Windows background service that runs automatically when the machine boots.

After installation, the configuration tool can be launched by any user who has been granted administrator rights — but day-to-day, you don't need to open the configuration tool at all; the background service runs on its own.

Output location

You can save the CSV files to either:

  • A local folder on the same machine (recommended).
  • A network share referenced by its UNC path, for example \\fileserver\datafeed\.

:::caution Mapped drives The background service runs under the LocalSystem account, which does not see Windows drive letters that have been mapped by an interactive user (such as Z:\shared). If you want to save files to a network location, use the UNC path instead. The configuration tool will prompt you to convert a mapped drive automatically if you pick one. :::

What you don't need

You do not need to install any other software, runtime, or framework in advance. Everything required by the Datafeed App is bundled into the installer.
